PRINCIPLES

Workstation virtualization makes it possible to disassociate a conventional PC's logical components (operating system, applications) from its physical components (processors, memory). Logical components can be hosted on the same centralized server, whilst remaining fully operationally independent: these are virtual PCs.

Principe

The only components needed for a user to enjoy remote access to a complete virtual PC environment are the physical interface components (monitor, keyboard, mouse), and a simple display forwarding unit (thin client).

Workstation virtualization offers a real alternative to deploying and maintaining conventional PCs. The usual operational tasks such as deployments, updates, etc., are much easier (no site visits required) as all the logical components are centralized.

With workstation virtualization the concept of simple to use remote access points becomes a reality, using simple thin clients to ensure that users always experience trouble-free access to a standard PC environment.
